Abstract:

In today’s stressful life, diabetes is adding to the current woes in the human life. Patients from different blocks of economic spectrum in India have their own set of problems when it comes to dealing with Diabetes. The objective of this paper is to understand the pattern of factors influencing diabetes and patient care in different economic sectors in Northern Indian regions.

We collected the data by interviewing diabetic patients from different economic sectors in India and analyzed the trend exhibited in respect to patient care, lifestyle and eating habits. The study uses an unbiased distribution of economic layout using demographics of a city with a metropolitan culture of living but houses people from very low sector of the economic spectrum. This paper suggests the fact that:

a)      Diabetes affects people from all economic and ethnic backgrounds
b)      Non-vegetarian or vegetarian style of diet has no direct impact on the onset or maintenance of diabetic condition.
